landscape...
The wells are full today
Good rain
Tomorrow?
Take away this cry
These teardrops
Stars & ways
There are cottages mauve pink peacock blue on the hill
&
Good rain
On
Piano Street
&
The
Sea
Is grey green chartreuse
&
Friday's song
Is always sung by Lilith at the Fresco Cafe

Kerouac's paints
Inspired by departed angels Jack Kerouac the lost paintings text by Ed Adler. Adler writes when Kerouac made his picture of Lilith, it may have been a "depiction of the first mythic women's rights activist" (p. 233).

9 for the sea...
A beach -
Collecting glimmers
& smells
I'll always
in the beds of green waves -
Sing
Open blinds -
Gauzy orange winter on the morning
& my sea on the window
Sketchbooks scattered at the shore -
Crayons & colors
in
our
hearts
Drinking the sea
drinking the lee -
Drinking the night
9 for the sea -
A lobby of willows & wanderers
Unkind the sea's turmoil -
But a breath
is
its
Sun
&
its
Moon
Paint the edge a poet says -
It is where to sail
& to soar
Writing a flower a page -
Dogs
& daffodils
live
by
the
sea

& smells
I'll always

wind...
The jazz horns & the flutes
&
the violins
wrest from the sea
the moon there
& the wind
the Mulberry, the Bebop & the Picasso trees
oh, Spirit,
& the green waves
there
in
the
grass
&
in
the
sea
there, Spirit,
is this winter flower the wind
into the floats of your hair
where the poetry
is

some lines from the piano room...
A poinsettia reach
Ducks all around
E flat
A wing of sunlight on the hearth
From through the window
From the river

Misshapen glass in the trees
Green sills
Bands of blue

in reply to the question what happens?...
Hafiz
happens,
Spirit,
in the silence of an apricot sunset
a white light moon in a black onyx sky
star
drops
rustled waves
and
the songs of larks

what
happens!

& pencil sketching is hard...
Where
Fishermen & baritone saxophone players
Gather under the Mulberry tree
& sit on
Flat granite chairs near the boat ramp
Near the bandstand
&
Read poetry & sing songs
&
'Here's to us and those like us damn few left'
Aloud
&
I am pencil sketching this; & pencil sketching is hard,
A hard thing to do

Spirit,
the Sun this morning
is
rolling in a tree branch
cold
and orange and pink
and
I

Her
calling the Muse

Muse

She

Spirit,
in the very same tree branch
and
cold
and orange and pink
too
