coconut lime & the cheap hotel...
Rain on the morning
The blue wood clapboards
Outside
Weathered splintered & broken
At the Cheap Hotel
Looking over
Butter Bay
Butter Bay
There then, she
Wrote songs
&
Painted pictures
Of
Annabelles & Misties
In their
Pink
Sweaters
&
Butter-color
Skirts
On Fridays at Butter Bay Butter Bay
Then,
The rain stopped on the morning
& she,
She
Rubbed on the lotion
Her new lotion
Coconut Lime Verbena
There then,
Compliments of the Cheap Hotel
The blue wood clapboards
Outside
Weathered splintered & broken
At the Cheap Hotel
Looking over

windows (another)...
Windows & trees are the world & the sea
Out of my window on the wall
White birds skimming the bay, gulls
Seagulls swooping a white boat setting,
On a buoy flat & quiet slightly obscured
By two Christmas trees and a nearby mountain ash
There there
In the influence of Rod McKuen
&
All about the sailor in Him;
This morning
Paris-Three, L.A.-An Outstretched Hand & Tokyo-Fish Kites
There
Firewood, bricks & sticks stacked at the View Inn
On Geranium Hill, ballads
& shadows
Shadow Street on Geranium Hill
A sad new song
But;
The morning sun warms Shadow Street
&
There there are
Jazz poetry, leprechauns & silk
This morning
Out of my window on the wall
White birds skimming the bay, gulls
Seagulls swooping a white boat setting,
On a buoy flat & quiet slightly obscured
By two Christmas trees and a nearby mountain ash

In the lobby
Of the great hotel
A poet writes
In

Little pictures & little stories
Flowers trees & windows
Matisse windows

another windows poem...
Inverness
This morning cool & gray-like
Rose
Teak
Peaches
On Flowering Birch Bluff
&
Pastel smoke
Blue
On the sand green beach
Windows
To the wandering shore
Dripping on the moon
Inverness
High over
The ocean cloud
&
The green melon sea
Books
&
Orange creams
In the windows on the wall
There
Are
This morning cool & gray-like
Rose
Teak

the village...
The village - -
Colors
&
Smells
Garnered
From the sea
The pond
The mountain
Where
The meadow birds sing
To
The hill flowers
&
They all taste
The
Vanilla
Winds
&
There are
Sea boats in the bay
&
Barns behind the trees
&
On
The
Hills
&
At night the neon songs
Swim
In
The
Sea
Colors
&
Smells
Garnered

swan walk...
An orange on her table
It's April again
&
In all her flower & finery
Skirts & coats,
Lady Jazz
Walks with the swans
Again
It's April again
&
In all her flower & finery
Skirts & coats,
Lady Jazz
Walks with the swans
Again

the jazz train...
The jazz train
Stopped - -
On a siding at Vanilla Creek
Monk spinning
John Harrison 'watching the years go by'
Stopped - -
On a siding at Vanilla Creek
Mr. French Vanilla Ice Cream on drums
Ska-choo ska-choo
Ska -cha
Listen to that drummer!
Monk, man, John, man, French, man,
Stopped - -
On a siding at Vanilla Creek
Melody & years
Down the track down the track
But
For
Now
The jazz train
Stopped - -

willow budding...
Willow budding
At Cold Water Pond
Taking the night song,
Taking the night train
To Butter Bay
Where the sunrises are

Taking the night train
To Butter Bay

the blues motels...
Through
The
Painter's
Window
Out of the mountains
To Sun Sake
To
Sundown
Sun Lake & Sun Sea
The blues motels
Vases
Of peach flowers
& purple burrs
All
Along
The
Highways
- - Red's waltz
*inspired by song lyrics written by John Owen.
*watch for the painting coming soon.

sonnets of the wind...
A world of misty
The poet
A scratch of a sad portrait
Cries out
To the muse
All the poets the piano players
All
The
Young
Clarions
In
The
Dune grasses
&
There
In the red ball sun
The muses of the sea
Pure
Sonnets of the wind
Wavy lace
& fine flown hair
The poet
Shall wait
Wait
Out
His
Drifting melancholies
&
Art
&
Beauty
Crumbling

moonlight blue...
A little song
A little sun
A little sigh
Brisk the hands
A picnic by the ocean
Painting the Mulberry tree
- -
In crying ribbons
&
